Texas Critical Data Centers (TCDC)

Texas Critical Data Centers (TCDC), under development in Ector County, Texas, is a scalable AI and high-performance computing (HPC) campus designed to meet surging demand for compute capacity and sustainable energy solutions. Strategically located in one of North America’s leading AI corridors, TCDC will offer up to 1 gigawatt (GW) of liquid-cooled, high-efficiency compute infrastructure engineered for speed, resilience, and environmental performance. The secured 235-acre site, with an option for 203 additional acres, integrates on-site natural gas-fired power generation with advanced carbon capture capable of removing up to 250,000 metric tons of CO₂ annually. Positioned near key fiber networks, intrastate gas transmission lines, and CO₂ pipelines, TCDC is designed to reduce transmission costs, enhance reliability, accelerate deployment, and set a new standard for sustainable digital infrastructure.

Project

The Energy-Digital Convergence

The rapid expansion of AI and HPC is redefining data center requirements, driving unprecedented demand for massive, continuous, and efficient power at scale. Meeting this challenge head on, New Era Energy & Digital delivers with a unified model that combines strategic land positioning, on-site power generation, and powered shell development to provide high-density, resilient energy solutions engineered for next-generation digital infrastructure.

100+MW

AI Data Center Power

Modern hyperscale AI facilities require over 100MW of power—enough to support 100,000 homes annually—compared to conventional facilities needing just 10-25MW.

945 TWh

2030 Demand

Global data center electricity demand is projected to double by 2030, reaching approximately 945 terawatt-hours, representing 3% of worldwide electricity consumption.

50%

U.S. Growth Share

Data centers are expected to account for almost half of all electricity demand growth in the United States through 2030, driving massive infrastructure needs.

Permian Basin Advantage

The Permian Basin, spanning West Texas and Southeast New Mexico, is one of America’s most energy-rich regions, making it a prime location for next-generation digital infrastructure. Producing over 113 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day (2024), it enables cost-effective, behind-the-meter power generation that reduces transmission losses, lowers operating costs, and speeds deployment. The region offers abundant low-cost energy, proximity to fiber optic networks, natural gas pipelines, and CO₂ infrastructure, along with access to third-party water sources. Texas’ central location, resilient grid, low natural disaster risk, and pro-growth regulatory climate further strengthen its appeal. Combined with government incentives such as tax abatements and fast-track permitting, the Permian Basin delivers unmatched speed-to-market and operational advantages for AI, HPC, and GPU-intensive workloads.
